The gospel
All of us have sinned against a holy and just God (Romans 3:23). Because of our sin, we deserve His righteous judgment and eternal separation from Him (Romans 6:23). We are unable to save ourselves by good works or religious efforts (Ephesians 2:8-9; Isaiah 64:6). But God, in His mercy, sent His Son, Jesus Christ, fully God and fully man, to live the perfect life we could not live and to die the death we deserved. On the cross, Jesus bore the wrath of God for the sins of His people (Isaiah 53:5-6; 2 Corinthians 5:21). He was buried and rose again on the third day, conquering sin, death, and hell (1 Corinthians 15:3-4). Now, all who repent of their sin and believe in Jesus Christ alone for salvation are justified before God—not by their righteousness, but by Christ’s righteousness credited to them (Romans 5:1; Philippians 3:9). This is the free gift of grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8-9).
If you’ve never truly trusted in Christ, consider this a call to repent and believe the Gospel today (Mark 1:15). Turn from self-reliance, from sin, and from seeking your worth in the world. Trust in the finished work of Jesus alone.
For those who are in Christ: live for the glory of God in every area of your life (1 Corinthians 10:31). Share this good news with others, walk in obedience out of love for Him, and stay rooted in His Word and in fellowship with other believers.
"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come."
— 2 Corinthians 5:17
